WELCOME TO OUR CHAPLAINCY PROGRAM

It is a ministry of ancient and noble calling within the church, related to ministerial work of Pastor and his congregation.

The chaplain’s ministry is to share and offer God’s love to those who are in need. Chaplains are men and women who accept the commitment to be instruments of God in the process of restoring mental, physical, social and spiritual health of humanity – specially those individuals in need. Chaplains work to comfort, encourage, assist and guide those who suffer tragedy. Chaplains try in some way to help others in need of rebuilding in life.

VISION

To contribute to the integral development of the society providing the highest clinical pastoral education and training ministers, chaplains, and professional counselors who work efficiently as agents of change in regional, national institutions, and governmental agencies.

MISSION

Promote training of men and women in the field of pastoral care and professional counseling as well as propelling the profession of chaplaincy and counseling as disciplines committed to the well-being of human beings.

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES

  1. To train and develop professional chaplains and counselors that can provide short and lomong term chaplaincy service and minister in prisons, hospitals, government and private organizations.
  2. Provide certification, education, and professional support for chaplains serving the people of God through the ministry of support, accompaniment, reconciliation, professional counseling and pastoral psychotherapy.
  3. Promote professional fellowship through pastoral encounters that are characterized by spiritual communion.
  4. Promote Christian values and ethical principles modeled according to Jesus of Nazareth
  5. Facilitate and promote the integration of psychology, counseling, sociology and theology
  6. Contribute to strengthening families and society
  7. Serve as an intermediary between government, private institutions and Christian chaplains, watching the professional practice of the chaplaincy, and providing the widest possible collaboration, the public and private sector
  8. Provide members with the necessary tools so that they can provide high quality pastoral ministry, but mostly lift up the name of the Creator and Redeemer.

GENERAL CHAPLAIN RULES

  1. Be active in his/her local church membership.
  2. Maintain good standing with his/her pastor and/or denominational leaders.
  3. Maintain an unimpeachable witness.
  4. Demonstrate your loyalty to the organization and its chaplaincy department.
  5. Refrain from defaming members of this organization or other organizations.
  6. Submit to the respective leaders.
  7. Follow all chaplaincy rules.
  8. Do not make fraudulent use of chaplaincy documents (badge and identification).
  9. Chaplains will be provided a Chaplain Badge and ID card to be used ONLY when performing chaplain duties.
  10. The metal Chaplain’s badge may only be worn with formal attire during authorized ceremonies or when requested by North Texas Collegiate Institute. It is not intended to be used as any government issued ID or represent anything else other than a chaplain certified by North Texas Collegiate Institute.
  11. Always be aware that you are a volunteer chaplain, unless he/she is offered a formal position in any organization that requires its relevant services.
  12. Submit to the regulations set by your local church. If you have been placed in some type of discipline, you cannot stay active as chaplain until it expires. You must submit a letter that they retry.
  13. Respect the authorities that govern the nation, whether federal, state or local
  14. Chaplains in the course of their duties, will not recruit for their own church.
  15. NTCI Chaplain Department is not intended to replace the individuals own clergy.

NTCI CHAPLAIN TRAINING

Members of NTCI Chaplain Department will attend training courses conducted by the North Texas Collegiate Institute and/or its chaplain coordinators, to give them the basic training needed to fulfill a chaplain’s duty.

TO COMPLETE THIS COURSE ON LINE OR ON-SITE YOU WILL NEED:

Complete Section 1: Chapters 1-9 of the Chaplaincy Manual

This part consists of a presentation and online videos required by North Texas Collegiate Institute.

To receive credit for this section you must complete the comprehension exam at the end of the course.

You must score 85 or more to receive credit.

Compliance with the online course or something other listed in the instructions does not guarantee certification or guarantee that you will be approved.

Complete Section 2: Chapters 10 Chaplaincy Manual

This part consists of a presentation and online videos required by North Texas Collegiate Institute.

To receive credit for this section you must complete the comprehension exam at the end of the course.

You must score 85 or more to receive credit.

Compliance with the online course or something other listed in the instructions does not guarantee certification or guarantee that you will be approved.

CERTIFICATION PROCESS

A $50.00 PROCESSING FEE WILL BE CHARGED AT THE TIME OF SUBMITTING ALL DOCUMENTS. THIS FEE IS NOT REFUNDABLE.

The certification process to become a Chaplain of North Texas Collegiate Institute

COMPLETE THE REQUIRED COURSE ONLINE OR OTHER ADDITIONAL COURSES AVAILABLE BY OUR INSTITUTION.

SEND THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS VIA MAIL BEFORE COMPLETING ANY COURSE ONLINE OR ONSITE.

  1. Original copy of the application (remember to sign) (Leaving blank spaces may result in delays or your application to be denied) aplicacion de capellan update and background check release
  2. Copy of a Government Issued ID/Passport
  3. Passport Photograph or Profile Photo
  4. 2 letters of recommendation
  5. Verification of Residence (Proof of Residency)
  6. Letter of recommendation from a pastor or church where you currently attend
  7. “Clearance Letter” submit an official letter from the cities in which you have lived for the past 5 years.

Once you have completed the above instructions, your application will be processed in the order it was received.

APPROVAL PROCESS WILL BE BASED ON THE FOLLOWING:

  • The accuracy of the information provided in the application.
  • Information submitted
  • The information available in the criminal or background record of the state you live and/ or “Clearance Letter”.
  • An examination of the recommendation letters submitted where it focused on the individual’s moral and spiritual conduct.
